For our New Year's trip to the Big Island, our family flew go! (a subsidiary of Mesa Air Group of Phoenix, Ariz.), which operates four Bombardier CRJ-200ER jets for its interisland service. Just plain old goofy fun for the last weekend of summer.
We took a trip to a "secret" beach, at the bottom of the cliffs where we filmed Show #64, Makapu'u Point. It was rainy and windy and the surf was up, but that didn't stop us from hiking down for a swim in a beautiful cove all by ourselves, only 20 minutes from Waikiki!

This is my vlog. I started it mid-June. I went to Vlogger con in San Fran, and I was sold. My friend Becky does a spiffy one. Anyway, the vlog itself is pretty random. I don't know what I'm going to vlog about next. I figure that after I get a little more situated, I can start a show like 'Chasing Windmills.' But for now, I'll just put stuff up. :)

Today's show was filmed at the Hawaii Memorial Cemetary of the Pacific. 50,000 leis were donated, and over 100 Boy Scouts placed a lei and a flag on each gravestone. I was quite stirred to be in the presence of death while smelling the sweet scent of plumeria lei. Though most of those buried here are from modern wars, this "punchbowl" of an ancient volcano was the site of Hawaiian aliʻi burials and human sacrifice of those who violated the kapu or taboos.
