So it is with hunting and your first kill. It's what you've been hearing stories about, obsessively planning for and waking up at the crack of dawn for. But until you actually pull that trigger you don't know how you're going to feel. You're taking a life after all. It is both exhilarating and a moment of pure horror and regret.
